Load Sourcing
Headhaul out — the money load
I work the spot market for the highest-paying dry-van load out of your home area. Rate discipline is the whole job: I know your floor and I don't book under it — on all miles, including deadhead.
Backhaul home — the planned return
Your return is booked before you leave, not scrambled for at the last minute: Amazon Relay, J.B. Hunt 360box, and Uber Freight, matched against your home date. Every tour is judged as one profit-and-loss — the blended rate has to clear your floor plus my fee.
Tour Planning
Tours planned a full week out, built backwards from the day you need to be home. Standard tours run 7–10 days with a 34-hour reset at home base between them — but if you'd rather stay out 2–3 weeks and bank miles, I'll plan that too, with the reset taken on the road. Your hours-of-service clocks are checked before anything gets booked, so you never get a load you can't legally run. Your home-time rule is yours; I build around it.
Paperwork & Money Protection
- Rate confirmations. Every load confirmed in writing before you roll. Nothing verbal, nothing assumed.
- Detention & layover documentation. I track your in/out times and file the claim paperwork so waiting time gets paid, not shrugged off.
- TONU protection. If a load cancels after you've committed, the truck-ordered-not-used fee is on the rate con before you move.
- Your money never touches my hands. The broker pays you directly. I bill you separately, weekly, in arrears. Clean separation, always.
What's Included — and What You're Never Charged For
- Included in the 6%: load hunting and negotiation, rate confirmations, your week planned ahead, check calls, detention and layover paperwork, TONU protection, and a mechanic on the phone when the truck acts up.
- Never charged, ever: no setup fee, no weekly minimum, no paperwork fee — and no percentage of your fuel surcharge, detention, layover, or TONU money. That money is yours, all of it.
- IFTA, ELD, compliance: I don't sell packages. If you need them, I'll point you to honest providers — no markup, no games.
When Things Go Wrong
Breakdown under load — the relay playbook
You call me first, not the broker. I find another truck to relay your load so the freight keeps moving, coordinate the swap, and document every detention and layover dollar. Your customer relationship stays intact.
Diagnose by phone
Thirty years turning wrenches. Fault code at midnight, strange noise, derate warning — I read it with you and tell you whether it's safe to roll to the next shop or needs a hook right now. That judgment call is part of the service, not an extra.
